Title: Wildgoody Flex!
Post by: shoyrtt on December 04, 2004, 06:15:23 PM
I finally uploaded some pictures of our Calico trip last week. We had a great time (although it was a little windy the last day :P)

Cool pic, any more  ;D

I had a blow out a few days before the
trip, and the front has worn out the front
drivers so bad it was starting to show cords

So that's my space saver spare SSR 33x12.5-15
on a stock rim, the other is a Swamper LTB
33x13.5-15

Big difference in the size between the two,
now I got to get another pair of LTBs for
Moab

Yep, we were only there on Fri
afternoon and Sat till about 4:00

It was getting windy and cold and
it looked like rain, Jim (shoyrtt) had
to be back in Redlands on Mon and
we didn't want to take a chance on
snow closing the pass.

I'm sort of glad we left because the
zipper on my tent split open and me
and my boys would have been sleeping
with the wind blowing thru the tent

We were in the Calico campground,
where were you ???

Thats some good flexin there Goody ;D
No sway bar?
Title: Re: Wildgoody Flex!
Post by: wildgoody on December 05, 2004, 11:32:44 AM
Sway bar is gone, I'm not even
sure if I could find it now, it just
gets in the way when it's disconnected
and I didn't think I needed it, the tires
don't corner fast, so I don't need sway
control either, I just drive it to it's limit,
no pushing it farther than that

That does it then. Mines coming off ;D

You will notice more lean in the corners,
just learn how to drive it before you push
it to it's limits

Mines been off for 3 year now.  Just do what Wild says and it's no big deal.

Its hard for me not to corner hard, It is a HotRod after all ;D
But I guess I can slow down for some corners ;)

Is taking the swaybar off a noticeable difference?

Yeah i was talking about flex. I need all i can get. The downwards travel is so limited it sucks. Time to build those shafts.

I was actually just thinking of welding a piece of plate steel to the front.

I wish I would have built the Dash Camera
for this trip, there were some good shots
of Shoyrtt looking like he was going over  :o

Tho he never really got that close, it would
have looked good from my angle  ;)

It was more of a speed bump with all the Jeep
and Toyota drivers stacking rocks.

Unless it was like the Golden Staircase on Golden Spike
for the Nissans, then it became a stumbling block.
(That was a speed bump too  ::) )

There was a good wheel stand on the waterfall in Bismark that I forgot to get the camer for. Shoyrrts eyes were getting a bit big whe he let off. then  a little bump and he climbed right up. I have a box built of plexi that fits my video camera that I use to use as a dash cam on my sandrails both the cam and the box were in the BAM wish i would have thunk of it but it would have been boring  while I was leading ;D

thanks

This was wed before all the onramp building. still not a huge deal but it takes a bit of searching for the right line.

Thanks
