My kick has a starting problem.the starter wont rotate and i only hear the click.If i keep trying it will start eventually but i can keep trying for 15 min before it starts.it happens only occasionaly but espessialy when i try to start short time after turning the engine off(warm engine).
What could be the problem>Can it be the battery or its the starter?

sounds like a dead spot in the starter. the only way i know of fixing it is getting a new or rebuilt one. also giving the starter a few whacks will normally get the starter working again, until it finds the dead spot again.

My truck does the same thing. It's probably just a combination between some wires getting corroded, and the battery getting old. But on a side note, I have a new starter, new battery, and some new wires, and I bought the starter fix from Rocky Road and it still gives me the clicky starter, I imagine that all the mud that the truck see's isn't helping the fact, but It's probably just a Zuk thing.

Bad selonoid, replace it with a new one,
or go to the wrecking yard, and pull one
from a Metro, same part, on diferent starters.
I just swapped mine out, I've been carrying
it in my tool box, with an auto trans, if it don't
start your stuck, so I kept a spare with me.
The old one was loose at the end of the
selonoid, where the wires connect, this
was keeping the contacts from working
and spinning the starter

see im having this same problem i just replaced my starter and my alternator with brand new rebuilt ones *oxy moron?* but anyways i still have the clicky starter. we put it up on my friends yellow top optima and it fired right up...2 times. then it went back to straining to even crank the engine at all. it's really confusing. that on top of my throttle body sensor going bad. however we jumped the terminals on the solonoid to bypass it and it fired right up..but even that doesn't work all the time..i really am running out of options and losing heart =\

Yep the battery is pretty old.did it help replacing the battery?

If your battery's shot, then you're gonna have trouble starting it even when warm. Same with a bad silenoid. Try tapping the silenoid when you have trouble starting, if it starts after tapping, then that's probably the problem.

Ignition switch sometimes will give you a problem! the one on my Sammie had worn the contacts down enough that a temperature change would cause a start or no start condition . ;) M.Z.

I had the same problem. I replaced the starter no change. I put in the largest cranking Amp battery I could find at NAPA that would fit and haven't had a problem since.
