Title: Beefed up the lift a tiny bit... guess I will never be finished.....loo
Post by: Quaddawg on May 22, 2007, 05:35:49 PM
Well,  I finally put my extra Digger spacers in the rear, to even up the lift..

I guess it's about a 3.5" in the rear, and about 4 in the front now, with the BDS 2" kit it has (mostly coils)

Maybe I will leave it alone now, and get some more trail rash.

HEY! that's not a coffee can! That is a custom OD Air filter protector!

As for the lift,  It has 2" BDS lift coils, fore and aft, and 1.5" Digger spacers fore and aft.  BDS Struts with extenders and BDS long travel off road shocks in the rear.

looks good, now all you need is a 3inch body lift to fit some 33's...  i know you don't much like the body lifts but you would have so much room.......

uh...........  er................

don't much like?    I HATE BODY LIFTS..

never never never never never never will I body lift this or any other kick.

There is just no need.  I could trim a bit more and put 34's on it right now...   but I don't have the gear for it, I like to drive it on the road now and then, and it only has 5.62's...

Did I mention that I really really really hate the look of a body lift?

The Turtle is as high as I like it. Sure, I wish I had another 2 or 3 inches of frame to ground clearance, but 33's will only give me another inch, inch and a half... why jack the center of gravity up higher, just to gain and inch or so?  I don't get it..

(did I mention I abhor body lifts?)

So what your saying is... You don't really care for body lifts. Is that correct? :)

I'm with you on the "hating the body lifts" part.  I hate them too, but i have one.  I wish i had just chopped and chopped instead of spacing out the body.  I've been considering pulling it out, but that would require changing the sliders and a few other things.  PITA.  I should have started without one...

Do you want to joint the C.A.B.L ? (Coalition against body-lifting)

Most Definitely!

How do I join?

We need a special signature graphic!

Maybe I will work on one.  I need a rather plain line drawing of a 4x4, preferably a zuk, and I can make one....

The truck looks great. I hope to get mine looking like that eventually. I like the simple O.D. paint and functional look.

My shed?  it's a 10x20  barn shaped storage shed...  bought it out of the classifieds for $200, because the guy didn't think I could move it to my property on a trailer.... I did.

Is your lift still doing alright (problem free) with the extra spacers. CV problems?

Yeah,  the lift is fine...

The Turtle is injured, and needs some repairs.. lol..  I got stuck on a root, and an overzealous 1 ton tried to pull me in half..  frame is tweaked a little..   not too bad...

But he is down for now...

I have been autocrossing in my Festiva this summer!!
