Title: Frame differences between Sidekick and Sidekick Sport?
Post by: Zooki on May 25, 2007, 05:45:31 AM
Does anyone have a comparison of the frames between a regular Sidekick, and the "Sport" version. I have heard somewhere that the "Sport" uses a different frame? With all the talk of using Toyota CV's, and the fact that the A-arm mounts need to be widened on a regular Sidekick got me wondering if the "Sport" was already wider, and if the Toyota CV's would fit without the A-arm mod? Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

The Sport frame is approximately 4" wider at the rear, as I recall.  I measured mine a few months ago and compared it with the numbers in the Tracker FSM.  The rear end was easiest to measure and I did not go further.

The front of the frame is wider also like one or two inches.

The chassis is 60mm further apart and the front cv driveshafts are longer than than the normal ones, particularly on the lhs as the diff is offset slightly.
