I took out the rear seat in my SJ and put the spare tire in the back, held down by a couple of straps. The High Lift lists lengthwise across the back of the SJ and is held in place by the spare tire and the roll cage. It worked great and made for quick access to the high lift if needed. Basic tools, oil and small shovel are all stored in the blue bag and just stored on top of the spare tire or tucked in around it. The only time I have had something fall out was when I dropped the rig over on it's side. That is when I added the two straps. :)

For a cooler I just balance it across the spare tire and hold it down by the handles with a couple of bungie cords.
For the planned trip to the Rubicon next summer I am going to build/modify a cargo rack that attaches to the roll cage and sits on top of the spare tire. That way I can strap camping equipment and coolers down to it. In order to get at the spare I will just open the tailgate and slide it out the back.
