Hello all... I've been surfing the boards for a long while now.. I've always thought that these little trackers were the most underrated 4x4 on the market, I've been waiting to find the exact one I wanted, and now that I'm finally the proud owner of one,I decided to join up and share a picture.... It's a 95 model, 16v 5 speed, 107,000 miles, No rust that I can find, and everything seems to work well....Today I removed a set of ricer boy flames that covered both sides of the truck, did an oil change, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and wires, and I undercoated the entire thing... I paid $1,500 for the jewel.. let me know what you think...

Thats a nice one. Good mileage and a good price. Looks much better without the flames.
-
nice!
Try popping off the tail light lenses. If you don't see rust - especially behind the driver's side unit, you have a well-preserved Tracker!
Welcome to our world!

I'll pull the taillights tomorrow, thanx for the info, I never would have looked there until I had to change a bulb
Wheresmyhat: thanx for the compliment, I think it looks ten times better without the flames as well. I like the all black look, which I hope to achieve very shortly.

Nice!! Big improvement w/o the flames. Now for a lift and big tires!!!

Actually the lift and tires are what I'm looking into right now.. I've actually IM'ed you about your spacers on ebay just now... just trying to find out if the 2" spacers cause any cv angle problems.. whenever I get my lift figured out, it'll be some 15x8 black steelies and some 31's, or 32's if I can stuff them under there..... thanx for the reply

actually, I feel like it took me too long, but I'm not used to these trackers just yet.... I'm not sure exactly how many hours, but I started on it at about 6-7 this morning, and with a couple breaks here and there, I didn't shut the garage down till 5... so basically all day long

lol, well, there is a big difference in hot rod flames and flames that all the local civic guys have bought at advance or autozone ;)
Thanx for the heads up on the other sight PHX96TRACK

Looks great!! Especially for the money you paid.Save up some dough and get it lifted with some meats and you'll be dialed!
-
Nice username.
nice tracker, I just agreed to buy a 95 monday, will be ready for pickup wednesday.
-
Hey bandit02, you should be able to get some 30" tires under it with just the spacer lift. If I were you I'd add a body lift. I use a 3" body and my 1.5" spacers and run 31-11.5's on my 4dr. It looks good and with a little trimming does not rub at all. By the way welcome aboard, you will be hooked on modifing your Tracker!!!

hi, newbie. i am one (a newbie) too.
looks a little bit like mine.
my glove compartment is broken, though.
would you know where i can find the switch that lifts the hood up?
i got mine just yesterday. :)
please help. thanks. :)

1500.00 nice deal thats the same price I paid for my 94 with 85,000 on it... yours low miles too... and looks cleaner than mine... good deal there.
-
agnescarmel, the hood release is in in the glovebox. If you need a coil spacer lift let me know
-
Thats a great deal, I paid $1000 for mine, and it was filthy dirty inside with dog hair, and had some rocker panel rust. I had to put a couple days worth of work into cleaning the inside just to be able to drive it,.. and yet I can still smell dog sometimes >:(
Maybe pop off the rocker panel covers to see how the metal is under there, it's one of the hidden spots, as well as underneath the rear bumper.

I'll do that today... I'm going to the shop today to check and change all my fluids, (axles, tranny, transfer case), and I'll be sure to look in those places for rust as well... I actually did find a bit of surface rust on the passenger side kickpanel inside the tracker.. It looks as if it's right where they welded up a seem, but as I said, it's only surface rust, a grinder and some black rustoleum and it looks good as new.

If you are talking about the hood latch, it's in the glove box at the top, pull the handle.
-
hell when i first got my Tracker it took me about an hour to find the hood release. That thing pissed me off so bad lol
-
Hood ??? surely you must be talking about the bonnet LOL
A hood is someone who is not very nice ;)
You guys ;D
