All I can hope is that it's not on the Theta platform, and that it has part time four wheel drive.
-
I'm affraid the market that they're catering to is the crowd that wants part-time, computer controlled 4wd :(
They've left the group that made their micro-4x4's successful :( :(

Woo Hoo!!! Another SUV with low profile street treads on 17" rims! For once, I want to see a concept drawing of an SUV with beadlocks!

I used a translation web site and it really doesn't say much other then it looks a lot like the Toyota RAV4...(really?) ::)
Anyhow it really looks like the uni-body VUE platform so I guess so much for 4x4.
-
Acutally, I've been comparing photos from the Chevy Equinox and this new GV and there are many major differences...also, as Toyotaish looking as this new GV is, it still retains alot of the classic Suzuki look to it...so I don't know, we'll have to wait and see.
-
I can't speak to the vehicle you have pictured, I've never actually seen the new suv, but I know the new one is going away from body on frame. So it will be a unibody design.

You know from all the "stuff" that I have read Suzuki was to have all new mid sized suv. So hopefully that one will be the unibody.

That one is due 2006. That should have GM's Global V6.
At least the new GV is supposed to have the 2.7 V6 so that is good news. I thought Suzuki said this would still have a seperate chassis. Doesn't look like a lot of room in the wheelwells :(

looks like a minivan. guess ill be moving to another country to get a decent new zook. :P

That seems to be the only way, doesn't it? Frig...I should just move to Japan, then I can have the pick of the litter there. :P

Okay so I speak German (live about 5 miles next to it). I'll try to translate it for you guys:
The New Suzuki Grand Vitara,
Bigger and more luxurious.
The new GV is officially not here untill Fall 2005. AUTO BILD has it allready in it's Mag. First pictures.
For a while Suzuki Sent the new GV only on-road in a camouflage suit  ;D but now we have found it without. On the pic it's obvious to see that the new model is more modern and even looks a bit lake a Toyota RAV 4 (ugh, puke  ;D).
Obvious fender flares, big back lites and clear lines follow the auto-mode now a days. Also in length there will be some added. On the autosalon in Geneve the car will be as a study model but on the IAA in Fall 2005 it will officially be the serial version in Europe.
I don't like it as much as I hoped  :-[ and what's up with this:(http://bilder.autobild.de/bilder/1/59911.jpg)
Look at the hood, would it open up forward????? :o
I think it looks like a Mitsubishi Pajero or something (don't know if you have those over there but I don't lik em).
At least we have the Jimny around here. But as for a while I'll stick to my Vit  ::)

I kind of like it, for a pavement pounder :P I would not wat to attempt to build it for off road use though. I wonder if it could tow a built Kick :-/
