Which driveshaft are you trying to remove? Do you mean the UK drivers side front driveshaft? Have you disconnected the A Arm from the strut to give you more space?
-
YES I HAVE REMOVED EVERYTHING. ITS A UK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. SHOULD IT JST SLIDE OUT?
THANKS

If you're referring to the part where the shaft is actually inside the diff, they have their own little snap ring deals inside, so you just have to reef it out a bit harder. Pretend the drive shaft is a slide hammer and 1-2 tugs and it should come out of the housing.
-
THANKS, ITS THE PART THAT GOES INTO THE WHEEL. IT JUST WONT COME OUT.

It should just slide out. Check that the end isn't damaged in some way.

IVE CHECKED ITS ALL FINE. JUST WONT COME OUT. ITS WORKING TOO. IM ONLY TAKING OUT BECAUSE I NEED TO CHANGE THE VELOCITY JOINT GAITER.
THANKS

Jeremy:
The Vitara/Sidekick axle shaft/ CV shaft (the driveshaft or prop shaft runs from the transfer case to the differential) has a C-clip ring that fits on a groove the slpined section of the shaft on the outside of the outer hub bearing where the locking hub assembly sits. Unlike the Samurai (its ring is on the very end of the axle shaft), you HAVE to take off the locking hub before removing the CV axle shaft.
Also, do a search for cv ( need to improve the search strings on this one... ;D ) for an article I created on how to replace the Velocity Joint Gaiter.
I think my Idiomatic English English is getting better and better!
BTW, no need to SHOUT! They implemented lower case and the shift key back in the mid-70s.

THANKS
I HAVE DONE IT NOW.
