HI CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ME HOW TO CHANGE THIS CV JOINT GAITER. ON A VITARA.
I HAVE REMOVED THE DRIVE SHAFT.
THANKS

Pull the gaiter back. Underneath all the grease there is a circlip the needs to be removed to allow the CV joint to be seperated.
-
IS THAT AT THE END THAT GOES TO THE WHEEL, OR THE END THAT GOES TO THE AXEL?
THANKS

CANT FIND NO CIRCLIP.
THERE'S A BEARING WITH 6 BALLS, WITH A STAR SHAPED DRIVE SHAFT IN IT.
ANY IDEAS?
THANKS

I'm trying to remember too, but i'm pretty sure you have to remove the cv and boot from the wheel end, then slide the boot from the diff end down and off the other end. Only one end of the CV will have the 1" diameter hole to pull the boots off correctly. There is a circlip in there somewhere, but i can't remember where exactly.
Anyway, remember you have to start from the wheel end and work your way backwards into it.

Technically, you're working on an axle. Do you mean closer to the diff end?
-
YES I DO.
