Title: Anybody use Slick 50 in their engine?
Post by: 450rydr on June 21, 2007, 04:25:21 PM
So, the 'ol Samurai smokes a little when she's cold, and I can smell a little oil burning when I downshift. I also here some lifter or valve noise. Has anybody put any Slick 50 in thier Samurai? Just wondering if it's worth the money. One guy I talked to said it made a big difference in his. Just trying to get some input.

I haven't tried Slick 50, but I always use 15-40(10-40 in the winter) oil in my Sammys. It helps alot with smoking and the infamous Samurai lifter tick.

I would avoid Slick50 ... I rebuilt an engine where it was used and it was a mess.

There is no such thing as an "engine rebuild in a bottle" so why bother ...
