Title: resurfacing the flywheel.
Post by: daddyizzle on June 21, 2007, 06:50:48 PM
How much can I expect to pay to have my flywheel resurfaced? Should I avoid the autozones etc? What do I look for as far as getting it done? I don't want to end up with too thin a flywheel when it's done.  :-\  ???

Any input always appreciated.

I think the autoparts stores charge about $25, for a non-recessed type (Trackick) and about $35 for the recessed type (Samurai).  I have had a couple done there and have no complaints.  Make sure they have an actual flywheel grinding machine....some just use a brake turning machine....it works, but it doesn't do as nice/good of a job as an actual grinding machine.

I paid $45 to get mine done for my 97 Kick at my local NAPA store a few months back.  They did a nice job, but $45 was still pretty darn high.  In the end, I paid it for the convenience since they were the only place that I could get to without another car...
