I just installed the coil spacer lift on my 97 Geo 2dr. Now when I drive it down the road, I hear a pop from the rear axle area. I put the 92 Crown Vic shocks on, so I know the shocks are long enough. I have checked the shocks bolts to see if they are tight and they were. Has anyone had this problem before? Any help is appreciated.

driveshaft u-joint binding?

When you installed the shocks, what did you do with the bottom mount? The 91-CV shocks I bought, had only the bushing, I needed to press out the metal sleave from my old Sidekick shock, and push it into the 91-CV bushing in order to make the shock snug.

Yeah I had to do that too.....I wondered if the Crown Vic shocks need to be stiffer for this lift, they feel pretty spongy. Maybe I should have got a stiffer shock?

the shock stiffness won't cause any noise unless you are topping them out, but that makes a hard clunk sound.
