hello all im new hear, and hopefully in the near future i will own my very own suzuki samuri. I found one down the road from me for sale. Its an 88.5 hardtop, with 1.3 carburated enigne, 5 spd tranny. Its pretty clean with some small rust bubbles on the hood, and a small dent on the rear quarter. It has about 79000 miles on it, and it drives pretty good (as good as it can). The frame and body are both solid, but the AC doesnt work. KBB says its worth about 1500 dollars. The guy wants 2400 for it, i think he is asking why to much even though it is in nice condition.

I think he is asking a bit much, but it depends on what Samurais are going for in your area.
With the dent and it being a hardtop I would go with the 1500 KBB value. For off-road excursions I prefer soft tops. That drops the value in my mind as to what it is worth.
It is clean though, and would probably sell for 2000 up in the NW without any issues. Not that I have bought one recently, but I do browse Craigslist a lot. :P

once i sell my jeep i think im going go up there if he still has it, and offer him 1600 for it.

Looks nice and probaly worth more like two grand.

I would give 2 grand for it.I love hard tops.

Looks like he is selling a van too.
Maybe he is in a pinch, financially. ;)
Monthly bills, unexpected house repairs, who knows?
This is where you swoop in for the kill.
HAVE CASH!!!
Drop a low-ball offer, tell him you have the cash, and drive away happy! ;D
Sometimes it's that easy, not always.
Look around for signs that he is in a pinch. This will help you.
Also, when I go looking at Track/Kick's and Samurais, I pretend like I don't even know what I'm looking at.
