They acknowledged my stern letter outlining my issues. And I was told the same old refrain.........try different gas or better yet, run higher octane (read expensive) gas in my rig.
I let the lady blab then I told her I no longer have the vehicle. She was amazed. Then she got on me for writing the letter when I didn't own the vehicle. I told her at the time of writing, I in fact DID own it. However, since they chose to be non-responsive and two dealers stonewalled me, I made a decision to dump it.
ohhhhhhhhh she said. I talked a little be more and suggested she file my letter in the "lost a customer" file for future reference. I then alluded to their grand 3-5-7 plan as .22 (too little too late credit for that line goes to yankee tim)
We ended the conversation and I said goodbye.

I can't remember from the original posts, what is the octane requirement for the year you had?
If it's 87 and they were recommending higher, that's really lame.
-
It is 87 octane per the owner's manual.

So I guess pretty much here what we're saying is that ASMC was a day late and a dollar short huh? ;D Well, at least they did call you. (But again, back to that whole day late dollar short thing though.) Sorry to hear you sold your rig, but, If it were me, I'd probably do the same thing, too bad you couldn't get the lemon law on your side on this one. Take care, hope things work out for you. Dave

Thanks. I'll pop in from time to time just to see if Hagen is on all fours or in the air.
I am keeping my Yahoo group going. There's over 200+ members there and some active ones who help out with questions. Plus, I stop in as well to answer questions that I actually know what the *&^&* the guy is talking about.
Beyond that, I just have to chalk it up to experience I guess. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

So did you get something else yet? that yota you were talking about? did you trade your zuk or sell it outright? If you sold it outright did you tell the new owner why you were selling it?
There must have been more reasons why you were so eager to get rid of it than just spark knock. I mean my wifes Aztek has a pretty major oil leak on the lower intake manifold, common on the 60 degree gm v6. Its under warranty, and I work for the dealer, but I can't get them to cover it because "its not severe enough yet" by the time it gets really bad I'll be out of warranty. I'm not ready to get rid of the truck yet, nor can I afford to right now. What else was so bad about the Zuk that it had to go!
