I Have a 94 Tracker with a strong engine and I am thinking of going 31's for the tires. I am doing a 1.5" lift and wanted to know if anyone else had done 31's with just the 1.5"lift. When I went out stock and compressed every thing and measured it looked like 31's should be fine with a small lift, any thoughts? Also The lift is a 1.5" coil spacer and I got the part number from KYB for appropriate rear shocks but they said I was out of luck for front struts. I would like to avoid front strut mount spacers if possible. Does anyone know somewhere that makes struts that are 40/50mm longer then stock? Third and final question anyone here done the strut spacer and wht do you think of them and who made them?

old man emu makes a good kit it is a 1.5 inch lift but you can get spacers as well from them, it comes with springs, shocks, struts. go torocky-road.com (http://rocky-road.com)

Thanks for the info, been spending a few hours poking around and it looks like I'd be better off with the 30's as the extra half inch clearence in not worth all the mods and back spacing. That said I really would like to get struts that are longer rather then mount extensions any ideas on that? Also has anyone done both and how did one compare to the other. Sorry for the questions but this is my first IFS lift and would like to do it right the first time.

With my experience longer struts and strut spacers do the same thing...but with longer struts you get more travel..but ome struts are expensive so watch out...but everyone on here will tell you there worth every penny you spend on them

I made my own 2" strut spacers a good few years ago using aircraft spec ally. With a lift kit you do need to restore the down travel or the handling can get a bit scary and the ride pretty rough.
The spacers do give more travel. On the stock setup there is around 2" of travel that is not used because the suspension hits the bump stops first. The strut spacers allow you to use the full travel of the strut - around 6" rather than 4". I now have the OME struts but even with the Calmini diff drop brackets there isn't enough travel on the CVs to use both.

Im running a 1.5" in my Tracker, and am currently running 31's on 15x8 wheels... I flipped my Strut mounts as explained on this site MANY times, it was SUPER easy and took very very little time, and it helped restore some of my down travel. I only had to trim a little off of the inside of my inner fender and beat back the seam on my firewall to stop all rubbing... hope this helps

I agreee with Bandit02. I just finished my lift and strut flip I was easier than I thought it would be. triming is needed to run m/t -31s but it was not much and is hardly noticable.

Think I'm going to spend the money on the Emu's on the front but I'm thinking about KYBS on the rear, any thought on running suspension that is valved diffrently? I have always run set stuff on my rigs in the past but I may not this time.

Tha old man emu parts are well worth the money,and ride and handle veru well on and off road.If it were me,i would go for them.The kit with springs,shocks,snd struts is well worth the price.

fairly expensive for only a 1.5 inch lift you can get a calmini lift for a little more

The ride quality makes it worth the money. The calmini is only a little more $$$, but a lot of people don't like the ride.
It all depends on what you want out of your vehicle. If it were possible, i'd use all of calmini's brackets and arms, and OME springs and shocks/struts, but since it would cost double the money, i'll stick with OME parts on stock components for now.

Doing searchs on the Old Man Emu on the forum, its hard to find any bad comments on them but it seems there are alot more issues with fit, install and customer service with Calmini. I'll order that roof rack from them and see how that goes first I guess but I think I'm sold on the OME for the struts and most likely shocks too and I'll run the factory A arms for now.
Thanks for all the info by the way, I don't mind spending the money but I hate doing somthing twice when I can do it solid once thus I'll be doing the pads and rotor as well. Are the rotors the over the lug style with a couple of bolts or is it one of the built in lug deals?

FYI tirerack.com has all of their tracker parts on clearence, I got a new set of KYB strut mounts with ship for 27.00. ;D
