Hey guys...I'm buyin a new tracker...1st gen...somewhere between 90-94 model with the 8 valve...I'm gettin the calmini 3+3 lift, 31s, calmini full exhaust, calmini intake, and maybe the calmini mid range cam. Now i have a quad that weighs about 500lbs and a trailer for it thats about 1000lbs. You think with the mods i mentioned above and with the 31s this little thing will pull it? Its about 75 miles to my camp where i ride and theres only like 4 steep hills. You think it'll be able to lug the thing up there good?

I used to pull a 350 Warrior on a steel trailer that was pretty heavy with a shagged out Sami with 31's and it did okay. I was not going 75 miles though, maybe 20. Still think it should do it though, just dont try to pass anyone or stop quickly!
-
I reckon it will pull it but it'll be a slug and hard on the clutch if you get a 5speed. If you get an auto then you could run the 5:12 R&Ps and it shouldn't be too bad. I'd consider fitting the LWB brakes front and rear to beef up the stopping power.

I use mine for pulling a small boat trailer, also my 5x8' landscape trailer(steel) for hauling stuff home and i plan on putting my cycle(over 500lbs) on the trailer to go to the race track which is 100 miles each way. Make sure your brakes are adjusted well.

I have a 1000lb tent trailer and a V6 Grand Vitara.... I can tell ya one thing, I certainly know it's there when I'm on the highway, especially in the hills. With my 3 inch lift and 29 inch tires I keep it in fourth gear on the highway (unless I have a good tail-wind or a downhill)

im gonna take mine hunting, sometimes might pull a quad or a moose i havent tried yet though

I used to tow a trailer with a bin on the front and a rack over the top around the country fully loaded with Jet skis and gear for racing behind an 8v. It did it ok but it was all stock so I didn't have to deal with any gearing issues.
-
stock tow rating is 1000 lbs, with 100 lbs tounge weight. With larger tires, if your still running stock gearing, I would say your probably at 800 lbs towing capacity...

I used mine with the Calmini 2" lift, 30's and stock gearing to haul a 600 Grizley and a Warrior on a tilt bed single axle utility trailor. The only time it slowed it down was on steep hills. It should be fine.

i used to use a stock 94 tracker to pull a honda 450, yamaha blaster, on a 6x10 steel trailer.... did fine till big hills....

If you built the zuki right. What do you need the quad for? i would rather off road with steel around me than the nothing you get on a quad. but that is just me

I agree... ...A Tracker is actually just a really big ATV that you can drive on the street...

we pull our snowmobile and trailer with the truck. like the other guys said - just dont try and pass anyone. otherwise it will be ok.

i just pulled my dirt bike and gear that had about 700 lbs all together this was a 347 mile trip, with lots of hills. my trailers wheels could not exeed 55mph so i had to down shift im running 31s just judge your hills and start putting the peddle to the floor before hand, expect some high rpms but these motors can handle it.

Pulled trailer to races saturday, 140 miles each way at 65 to 75 mph.
No problem, except used more gas than usual.
