Is there any hybrid rear end we can have?
I really don't know if I can run a locker on my 03' tracker if my fiance drives it
I know I would be fine, but we do do alot of highway driving, and it's icy where i'm located
it's also a 5 speed, so if we're not careful and let out the clutch while downshifting, boom, donuts
while after this, we only have a LSD option from calmini which costs an arm and a leg and I have no real idea if it's any good or not
*sigh*
However the ZR2 Blazers/Sonoma/S10/
use this eaton locker with a clutch packing which will lock once enough spin is detected

will the fiance be driving the car alot? or is there a way to maybe make it so when theres ice she doesnt drive it?
it shouldnt be that bad on the ice once u are moving. with a locker that is
-
she' drives it about as much as I do :(
i can't rationalize the cost of a ARB neither
I mean how quickly can we learn to drive it in a basically semi-glossy road weather?
another factor i'm kinda scared of
we have some highway bends which are gradual but long and require the gas to be engaged
if it's just frosted ice, will we not just drive like crazy?

Since your Tracker is pretty new you will probably have it for awhile.  In that case get the ARB.  Over the life of the vehicle it will be worth it. Or you could do what I did when shopping for a family SUV and get a Montero Sport LTD. It comes with the rear limited slip. Wait that will cost you more than the ARB. ;D

an ARB will be cheaper than getting a new hybrid rear diff and all that entails with trying to fit it.

for the rear locked cars i have drivin like the 673hp viper ;D when it starts to kick all u really have to do is let off the gas and USUALLY gathers itself back up
u would start to learn imidatly how to drive it..the first time u rolled a right turn the lessons would begin lol if ur on the gas the inside tire will push the car around..pretty easily so ull learn fast. just dont get cocky like me and spin gettong on the freeway :(

I think that some people on this board run modified ford 9inchers in the rear.

The Calmini LSD is very good.Friction type ,70 or 75%.
Works good even with a wheel airborn.I have it on my Sidsekick's front axle.I bet its the same as the very good Suzuki OEM LSD's.
