Title: Speedo difference w/bigger tires?

How much would my speedo be off by with big ole 30's on it? was running puny stock wheels?

i got 29s on mine and speedo says 50 when im goin bout 54-55

Yeah, mine's off 10%, so 30=33mph, 40=44mph, 50=55mph

The formula is simple

Current tire size (29") / stock tire size (26") x speedometer reading

That is how far it is off

If you have a GPS then you can recalibrate the speedo. This was covered on, IIRC, Zuwharrie recently and (again IIRC) is reproduced in ACK's FAQ.

I concur with 10% decrease in speed and odometer reading.

3 speed auto + 5.12 gears + 31x10.5s = speedo dead on ;)

nice to have a speedo be back on after years of samurais, and other stuff being off.
