ALWAYS BE PREPARED FOR THE WORSE!!!!
There has been a few topics on the board about the safety of Off-Roading and there were always many responces of people needing to be prepared.
A good friend and fellow clubmember, his wife, and his two children are alive today solely because John was prepared.
This is not a Zuk, but a jeep climbing the 'Slick Rock' obsticle in Tellico NC over the Thanksgiving weekend. His custom roll cage saved his entire family (all were in the jeep at the time). John is a very experianced Off-Roader and knew to prep his Jeep for tough situations. Like I said above, his custom, tied to the frame cage allowed only the following injuries:
John: shattered bones in his hand from grabbing the spreader bar when he turned to check that the kids were OK during the roll. You can see him turn when the jeep hesitated then continued to roll.
His wife had a bad bump on her head, she was life flighted to the University of Tennessee in fear of a bad head injury, but it ended up only a bump and cut on her head and she was home later that night.
Their two childern walked away with only minor bumps and bruises.
The need for safety equipment can not stressed enough. Be prepared and always wear a seatbelt while wheeling!!!! It saved an entire family this time!!!!

That was nasty, glad they're ok.

Wow that was a nasty tumble. I'm glad everyone is ok.
-
real nasty ... looks like they almost kept rolling down too.
A prime example why you never should wheel alone too!

If his spare tire carrier did not catch the tree they would of rolled all the way to the rock garden at the base of the trail (they were only about 1/2 way down when they stoped.

Glad everybody made it out Okay.

Reason's I stay outta the real hairy stuff til I get an exo cage built. My GF's son will NOT ride with us until I get a cage and good 4-5 pt seat belts!!

The dude with the red cap on didnt look like he wanted to go up to the rig after it was done rolling.... You always get that bad feeling in your gut when something like that happens.
