Anybody done it. I see a lot in samurai's. thanks,

I guess it could be done but why? Suzuki engines are every bit as reliable as the 22R. With the Gears (Axle and transfer) available today I can not think of any reason to change to a larger heavier engine. Even if you have a 1.6 8V it is a very torquey engine Want more? add a torque cam, headers, and raise the compression (shave the head) Dave

It wouldn't be worth it. You would go through a lot of trouble to put in a motor that is a lot heavier, and a 22R is going to be less horsepower then the 1.6, and no fuel injection. A 22RE is injected and probably would give a slight increase in horsepower, but again I think it would be pointless. In a Samurai that only makes 65 horsepower it is an improvement.
