Thanks to jimiwelds inspiration on me to start fabricating my own parts...i headed down to my shop today and got to it. I unbolted the front control arm bolts, removed them, then pulled the the front of the control arms down far enough to measure in between the holes. I took that measurment and jotted then down on some 1/4in steel plates that i had cut to perfect length. I drilled some holes them bolted them up with some new longer grade 8 bolts. I put one plate on the front and one plate on the back. This might not sound like much but this is a first when it comes to building my own things. So don't bash on me for bein happy about such a small accomplishment. I'll have pics tonight or maybey tomorrow since its kinda dark now..

What's the story with the come-a-long?
Good work on the truss, to start with. I always have a helluva time getting things straight and lined up.
This will give you a good place to make a skid plate off too. I guess the 2 flats of steel could be boxed in together to add rigidity.

the come a long is there for those emergencies when i need it...but it bein a zuk i never needed to use it yet ;D plus i cant afford a winch let alone a winch bumper

Looks good, are kicks known to be weak in that area?

If you mean the truss then yea they are pretty weak. I cracked my frame last month cause i hit a tree stump and it shifted the control arm. With that truss theres absolutely no movement. So if i would of had that truss on last month i would of saved my buddy 45min of welding my frame back together ;D

I don't know if I would say they are weak there so much as vulnerable. Go look at Goblin's front A-arm mounts! LOL!

Looks good Man, I would agree that a bottom section welded on would really help stiffen things up. I bet with a little practice on the bench on some scrap you'd be fine to weld it together yourself.

Looking good, its always good to see people making there own stuff. Makes the rig truly personalised. Might want to think about throwing some primer/paint on there to keep to keep it looking nice...and keep the jungle rott off of it. ;D
