Title: Adjusting parking brake??
Post by: skyhighsami on August 02, 2007, 05:37:14 AM
Where is the best place to do that? I tried to last night and it looks like it is as tight as it gets. I am going to check the shoes to see what they look like tonight.

To adjust rear brakes...on a trackick

Jack up rear of car
Take wheels off
Take one drum off
Loosen the tensioner
Put drum back on
Push the brake pedal slightly hard (you will hear clicks from the adjuster)
Repeat on opposite side

Then your good to go  8)

They should be self adjusting.

SkyHighSammi. I think that you're right to check the rear shoes, they may be worn out or you could have a seized adjuster.
