Has anyone ever seen a CB that fits in a standard DIN size radio slot?
-
yup I have one ... it's a cobra 29 LTD WX-D ... kinda hard to find tho.
the cobra 18's are real close to DIN (just a bit taller IIRC).
-
Awesome! Do you have a picture of it?
-
I'll get some pics this afternoon.
-
Thanks.
I can't find that model on Cobra's website.
-
yea, it's not made any longer. I found mine on ebay a couple of years ago, and still rarely see them.
-
Have you checked out www.crutchfield.com?
Put in your make and year, and it'll list all available units. They also include the faceplate and wiring harness for free.
I thinj you click on "Outfit My Car" first, and then what you're looking for. (i.e., CB, tuner, DVD, etc.)

I dont think crutchfield sells cb equipment.
-
I just tried and couldn't find any CB stuff on their site.

here's a couple of pics ...
the first is the cobra 18 hacked into an old style dash
the second is the DIN cobra 29 (but missing a piece of the trim)
-
Wow. No CBs.
I got the urge to get a CB too, but didn't know they were so hard to configure into your ride these days.
And with a Tracker-like vehicle, we ain't talking a lot of room to play around with non-dash-mounted units.
-
A cobra 18 isn;t that hard to find, can be made to fit, and also has a front facing speaker
I forgot to look at what crikey put in his ...
-
Also, if you want a hidden unit you can get a all-in-handset style CB. This would be like the Cobra 75 or 76. This would allow you to have the main unit behind the dash and out of the way.

It looks like that 29 LTD WX-D is exactly what I need but your right, I can't find one anywhere on the net. Anyone know of any CB forums?
