I went wheeling today with my friend at the usual place. Only difference this time I was running Swampers! Last monday I finished up the 2" body lift and I already had the front coil spacers in. Bioniconion hooked me up with some rims off a Ford F-150 (15x8" wagon wheels with approx 3.5" backspacing). I brought those home, cleaned them up and re-painted them, then drove to Wheeling, WV on friday to pay a visit to National Tire and Wheel. (just a bit of advice for anyone thinking about a similar road trip, if you want to put the tires on your truck there, bring your own jack! This place is a warehouse mail-order business, not a tire shop! LOL!) Anyway, they were having a sale on Swampers, so I picked up a set of 31x9.5x15" TSL Radials and had them mounted on the rims from Bioniconion. They look awesome on there! I love the traction they have! Everywhere I pointed the trucklet, it went! Places that gave me trouble before, I just walked through no sweat today! And the mud puddles are great fun now! Unfortunately I was a little too busy to take any action shots, but here's a couple poser shots while resting atop the hillclimb:

The best part was afterwards. While relaxing back at the clubhouse, we could hear an engine revving off in the woods. When it didn't move anywhere and kept revving, we decided to go investigate as it sounded like someone was stuck. It turned out to be a full-size chevy, buried in the muck and stuck on the diffs. They borrowed my Hi-lift, but couldn't really do anything with it. They tried using a come-along and even strapped up to a Mazda Pickup in an attempt to free the fullsize. After the Mazda's clutch burned up, I brought my Tracker around for a try. I strapped up to the back end of the fullsize with a Keeper strap, romped on it to full stretch, then stood on the brakes as the chevy slingshotted out of the goo! I pulled out a fullsize! Woohoo! Here's a pic of his stuck:

The driver of the fullsize was heard to utter afterwards: "Damn, that's sick! I gotta get me one of those!" talking about my Tracker! It was a great day in the woods! I love these new Swampers. So, how good do they work in the snow? lol...

Wild, you know, from all the pics of your rig I've seen, it looks like my Tracker's long lost twin (not counting our modifications, of course!;)) Yours is the same color and looks to be the same year trim-scheme as mine... Now I just gotta add a turbo... LOL!!!
-
u shoulda tired yer winch
-
Well mine is an 89'
it's light blue with a red door ::)
and soft top, of coarse you got
some custom rust spot that don't
show up out west, but other than
the paint, and the turbo, ya Sort of
:)

Nice new shoes for the digger eh? Thumbs up on those dude!

swampers are a sick tire, can't argue(sp) their.  everyone(99%) in the club i'm in runs them  going from a aggressive tread to a swamper is like night and day.  but i think i heard they don't do so well in snow.
stu
Edit: thsoe things look sooo much better than what you had before, good choice. ;)
-
From the pics I thought yours was silver! Oops, my bad... Mine's silver, but the same trim scheme. I run black tops(hard top for winter, soft top for summer).
92 sidekick4x4: I would have, but there wasn't much to tie-off the Tracker to! It would have just dragged the Tracker into the fullsize's back bumper with how mucky the ground was...

yea for some reason my mt's dont throw as much on my rig as they did on my friends..i don't understand it the only thing i can figure is it's because of the toe in. hey dig im definately interested in those parts for my fix and i'd love some help designing and building full skid plates if your interested *of course ill pay for the help* because i can't afford anymore 400 dollar breaks on something stupid like a rock...:D
-
she looks good with the swamper's on,
It's amazing how a a set of tires can change the whole appearance of a trucklet.
You must of had a good Day too, new tires AND you got to recover a full size ;D
-
I love my swampers, they work owesome, they dont seem to do too bad in the snow. I dont have much to compare them to they are all I have had on my Kick. You gotta watch it trying to pull out a fullsize with your winch. Make sure it is mounted strong enough. I ripped my bumper off doing that :D

Yeah Swampers get-r-done!They find the bottom of them ole nasty mud holes and get a grip.YA gotta be careful on rocks tho, get em to spinnin and snag a side lug and ya can tear it right off! all and All tho a pretty good Tire, ;D(http://www.eye-irritant.com/august2004/SUPER SWAMPERS004.jpg)

bioniconion, friday's out for me, got stuff to do. Maybe some other time through the weekend?
ksa421: the winch is mounted VERY securely, but I didn't winch him, I yanked him out driving with a keeper strap.
The swampers are definately great off road! I used to say that I could drive places that aren't even fun to WALK on, well, now that applies to mud as well! That deep thicker stuff that steals your shoes is not a problem anymore! LOL!!! I love these things!
-
Don't know about swampers and snow with the trackers, just got mine on last weak, but have run swampers in snow on my old ramcharger in two diffent sizes 34/9-16 tsl were like driving on dry pavement in the snow and Ice!!
33/15.50-15 tsl sx's on the same exact truck one year later and had to 4wd just to get out of my drive way in only 6" of snow!
I think it's a ratio between foatation and wieght, ie wide tires good for sand and some kinds of mud, tall skinney tires good for snow(only if it isn't to deep)
thats just how it seems to me!
p.s. just put 30/11.50-15 swampers on my tracker and am praying for smow to test me theorys
-
Then my 9.50" wide swampers ought to do really well then. It just started snowing around here, so hopefully I'll get to play some soon!
-
i like da swampers. still cant blieve u pulled out a full sized
-
gota love those swappers
