Hi !
Newb here, and I have a question concerning the front diff.
My friend has a 89 sidekick 2 doors and he broke his front diff. I can have a complete mecanic from a 91 4 door sidekick AUTO, will the 4 door diff fit or is it different?
And what about the ratio, I guess its the same?
Thanks a lot!

Was the 89 2 door an auto or a manual?

The 89 is a manual, that's mainly why I was wondering if it is a direct fit ! ???

The auto and manual diff's are different. 4.62 in the auto's and 5.12's in the manual.

The diff housings are the same, just the ratio's are different.

ditto, if the housing is broke, not the ring and pinion, they you can switch the gears from the broken one to the good one.; but if you can't set the backlash on the gears leat a pro swap the gears.

He broke the lower diff mount ( it completely ripped off ) AND I "guess" the pinion gears.
His 4H/L still works, and his front wheels turns, but only if he goes straight.
The minute he turns, you hear the gears cracking and the truck stops, so I guess there's nothing worth keeping :(

sounds more like he broke the spider gears inside the carrer. but if you going to just throw all that junk away then could you send it to me insted? ;D
