Title: Fuel inj. vs EFI help
Post by: gymtom on August 24, 2007, 06:39:41 AM
Hey guys;  I have been having trouble with my Samurai fuel injection since I bought this  sam a year ago.  It is the first year of the EFI (1990) and it is a problem. Really long warm ups, wont start in the cold etc.  poor fuel economy etc.  Should I switch the EFI to a Webber and how hard is it?  This is a daily driver with a moderate lift (5.5") and running 31"s.  I have a webber in an 88 samurai I use for my ATV but I did not install it.  It came in it and it runs and starts great.  Is it a pain in the a** or not to bad?  will I have inspection sticker issues?  Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks Tommy

dont do it, find yourself someone that knows fuel injection and fix it. the F.I. if tuned right will out perform the webber, hands down, all across the board!
good luck

OK,  I will give it a shot.  I am mostly concerned about the wiring.  This has to be on an extremely low budget.  I also have access  (free) to a 98 Toy Tacoma (4cyl) that  has no frame left after less than ten years but the whole drive train is great so I may opt for the bigger project and swap everything over.  It would certainly fix any HP issues.
Thanks
