No you don't want DOM there, for
one thing that size is $20 a foot
and the flanges are too thin to
weld that to. try some .040 wall
tubing, or close to that size, should
work fine.  The first spacer I built I
used Chain Link Fence Post  ;D

In my own defence, it was industrial
chainlink post, 3" Dia. it was also free.

You have to grind off all the hot dip
galvanizing so it doesn't flare up when
you are welding, the fumes are also
poisonous, so don't breath them.

Just razzing you, I applaud your ingenuity cause you're the only person I know with a Turbo Kick. (http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/clap.gif)

I though you meant booty as in
treasure  :D  It was a treasure to
have the free bee stuff to fab with
Borrowed the welder from work used
their chop saw and drill press, got some
scrap steel from the scrap bin at the
neighbors, cut it with the torch.

Dude just give me a scrap bin and some
tools, I built all the mods save the gears

I even used a piece of 3/8 plate to build
a skid plate, it was to be the oval shaped
access door on the side of a Cement Mixer
Truck, but it was a little out of shape.

I could lift the whole front of the trucklet
with that plate and it didn't even move
the steel, heavy tho like 30 lbs
