Title: Shopping
Post by: Luke on August 26, 2007, 07:25:31 PM
I've been looking for a samurai, and am looking for some advice on what to look for or avoid with these rigs? I know they didn't import them into this country very long and am assuming they are all the same (but you know what happens when you assume things) I see that a popular swap is to use a tracker engine, Why are'nt  more people modifying trackers? Do they have a frame? ??? ??? ???

Yes they have a separate frame and body.  And there are tons of people modifying trackers.  They're all over this site..

Why buy a Sami and swap a Sidekick engine in it? You can buy the Sidekick, modify it and have a pretty capable rig for probably less $$$. The Sami's are getting harder to find and if you find a good one, the owner is usually pretty proud of it. Although it seems the decent Sidekick/Trackers are headed that way too.

Yeah, one has a Geo logo on it and one has a Bowtie on it. There really is no difference. GM just dropprd the Geo brand name on all it's vehicles due to the bad reputation Geo car's reliability or lack thereof were giving them. They are the exact same otherwise.
