I have a 2002 Gand Vitari XL 7
I travel alot
The battery was going bac
I had it replaced and now I am helpless
The SUV will start but dies almost immediately
I have been told to hold the gas down and run it and it will straighen out
I have been told to take the battery post from battery and hold for 30 seconds
and now I am trying disconnecting battery for 24 hours and that will clear the problem
I am still waiting on the 24 hours to see if that works
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks
Lisa

Are you sure the battery is the problem, is the air filter clean?
-
Never had a problem till I replaced the battery.....
Do you think that computer reprogram sounds like the right direction?
I will check air filter
thanks

I've had the same thing happen and the hold it to the floor trick worked. Try that if the 24 hour thing doesn't help.
-
thanks
never thought that a simple battery change would cause such problems
do you know any other way to reset the computer?
-
Thats the only way I know of. I do think that 24 hours is overkill. More like 12 should be more than enough.

I know that on some vehicles that the radio fuse is the memory and removing it for 5 minutes with the battery unhooked will reset the computer.

To rest the computer, disconnect the battery and hold the brake pedal down for 30 seconds. That's all it takes.
