Title: Bioniconion's Tracker(pics)
Post by: Digger on November 18, 2004, 07:40:54 AM
Today I went and met Bioniconion half way between our houses. Even though we didn't get the chance to go wheeling yet, we did manage to spend 2 hours shooting the breeze about our trucklets. I found out he never posted pics of his Tracker yet because he doesn't have a digital. I happened to have mine with me, so I took a couple snaps to post up for him. He's running a 4 inch BL and 31's. Looks pretty good:

(I had to slip a couple of my Tracker in there, too!! lol)  Once I get my nifty new rims refinished(thanks again, Bioniconion! ;)) and get over to National Tire to pick up my new Swampers, we're gonna try to get together and see how much mud we can get into! Don't worry though, I plan on taking plenty of pics as long as it isn't dark! That's the trouble with offroading this time of year, the days are so short, most trips into the woods end up being in the darkness! Oh well... I like his new tires, what do you guys think?

Oh, and BTW Jon, those rims turned out to be 3.5-3.75" backspacing. Just about perfect for my plans. They're already painted and drying in my garage! Thanks again. ;D

Well, my 215's don't throw as much mud up the sides as his 31 MT's do! Plus I haven't had mine out in the mud since doing the body lift yet... Beleive me, it has been muddy, darn rain washed most of it off! LOL!

I wonder if the color has anything to do with where it rusts out? The steel under my rear lamps is solid...

That would have been interesting to have traded keys for a spin around the block... maybe next time we get together, if he's up for it, that is...

lol well it has the "s" on the front grill. geo on the hubs, tracker on the sides, tracker on the steering wheel cover, and almost all the engine parts say suzuki...so according to the police and my parking ticket *stupid friends street cleaning night* it was a chevy crossed out, then a suzuki he must not have realized suzuki doesn' tmake tracker lol

Sounds like a dead ticket due to a technicality ;) Maybe I'd be able to use that excuse...Its an Asuna Sunrunner but it has Tracker on the stainless ;)

lol well i went wheeling tonight..hehe following a jeep that thought he was hot shit..he had 3 inch suspension lift and 31's. well all was going well until this one mud puddle. it didn't look that bad but when we came out it sounded like i had a 350 under the hood..hehe i came down on a rock in it and i sheered my cat in 1/2 and busted my whole exhaust off. lol i guess now im officially an offroader huh? :D i wanted to upgrade it anyway...now i don't have a choice   :P :P :P :P :P

Mine had to custom rot holes there too but a little body work took care of that  8)

OOps! LOL! Sounds exactly like the reason I have a header on my trucklet now(except I split my downpipe and cracked the manifold)...

lol yeah...we luckily had a hatchet in the dudes jeep and a knife, we pulled the one exhaust hanger out but the other we had to cut and then beat it down with a hatchet to be able to slide the exhaust out. oh well..i always heard you never been wheeling till u broke something. hehe but i ordered my new exhaust so far. it's a raptor turbo muffler with 2.25 in and out. and i ordered my high flow cat with 2.25 in and out as well. now im just deciding on header. i really am having a hard time with this because i need one that'll keep my o2 sensor in tact and i don't want to spend a ton of loot on it. what all does everyone run?

From the pics, it looks like your front tires are ever so slightly outside the wheelwell, do you have a lot of 'side debri' come off those tires?
In the rain, does it produce a mist where you can't see out your rear view mirror?

Post by: bioniconion on November 21, 2004, 06:38:56 AM
actually the tires do stick out a bit from the side fenders. not as much as i had hoped actually. i was planning on it throwing a lot more mud than it does. but i think part of the problem is i have an inch of toe in on the front. but the alignment shop i talked to said it's like over 300+labor for the fix, so i said screw it and ill just rotate the tires more :D but exhaust stuff still on the way...guess i oughta take my stocker stuff out before the new gets here.

I think they're giving you a line of bull.
I've adjusted my toe pretty easy just by eyeballing the tires front to rear and so far it seems to be good.
Title: Re: Bioniconion's Tracker(pics)

Adjusting toe is rather easy, though you need to get measurements opposite of each other.
Measure the distance on the back side of the tires across, with minimal deflection on the tape, being half way up the tire. Then take same measurement on the front of the tire, opposite across from the rear measurement. Difference being no more than 1/4", front being shorter. Each vehicle is a little different so 1/4" may be too little for the IFS.

Toe in should be about 1/64th of an inch
1/16 Max 1/4 is way too much

His tie-rod adjuster sleeves are frozen. Apparently the shop torched them until they were cherry red and they still wouldn't budge. I have a complete spare steering linkage assembly from one knuckle to the other, but he didn't seem too interested...lol!!

Jon, I'm ready for you, now! check out my new topic! LOL! ;)

Nice Tracker Bioniconion, I was wondering who you were. I saw you at the Wendys in Johnstown last week.
It looks like you bought my buddys Tracker and switched the lift and tires over to yours, looks good! the pics of your Tracker look like you and digger are in Ligonier. we need to get together and do some wheelin' now that i know that i'm not the only tracker in the area. Here's pic of my ride, it was the same color as yours till last year. let me know we'll get together some time.(http://bigrubbers4x4.8k.com/images/matt_dickert_95_tracker_040627-1.jpg)

I guess we'll just wait till you get your parts, if you need a hand putting them on just let me know. I have a heated garage, with a nice selection of air tools and a welder if you don't have anywhere to do your repairs.
