Title: Toyotay axle question
Post by: J-Ron on August 29, 2007, 09:12:09 PM
is swapping out an offset zuki axle with a centered toyota axle gonna be somewhat detrimental to the drivshaft? you'd think that having two u-joints would eliminate that problem, but im just making sure.
if anyone has pictures or something that would help me i would really really appreciate it.

 -Thanks

yes and no LOL, some do some don't, some just get a small vib at around 25 mph and then it goes away kinda thing. get a skys or trail tough rear housing that is moved over a little bit.

  X2

I had a sami with yotas and had a wicked vibration.   My friends have the same setup but must have dialed in the driveshaft angle better than me and have little to no vibe.  I believe that vibe will kill a driveshaft fairly quickly.   ;D

haha, that whole buying a new rear housing... kills me a little inside. so is the general consensus that a rear toy axle with a centered housing not gonna work?

Toyta IFS truck and use the rear driveshaft from it and you won't have many issues... Have seen many do this and absolutely no complaints.
