Two things: First, what do you want to do with the vehicle? Second, more specific questions will help to get answers. Oops, three things... :) If you have specific questions try searching on those first.

Thanks, Eric

Well it will be 85% Daily driver.

I currently have a 3" lifted tj with a 5.2 swap

Secondly it will be my sons first car and we are going to build it togeather.

I need to commute about 4 hrs every other weekend but it takes me close to a place to wheel :)

I want it versital and dependable i guess Mild would be a good term

I also want to stay in the 2-4 k range on the build

i want a 3-4 lift lower trans gears its already locked front and rear

but what is the best engine? and why to do the swap

I think the most Bang for the Buck would be to buy a wrecked 4 door with a 16 valve, that would give you a ton of parts for your build if you want to stay below 4k, you could put the trans and x-fer case in it also and the gears for about 600.00 and do the wiring yourself if you get a good book on it, the power steering and a few other parts will fit also like the seats and the steering wheel, bigger brakes with a little work down the road and a core for the rear hybird housing(like 75.00)if you don't have a tracker rear in it.
