Title: headwork done, are these parts critical??

i just got my head back from machine shop (1.6.....16 valve) there are tiny wire clips that hold the cam followers for intake valves to a "rail" are these critical??? half of them are broken. i'm curious what would happen if i left them out. i'm calling a dealer tomorrow to see if thhey can get them. anyone know what i;m talkin bout?? ???
