Title: Clutch adjust
Post by: Mike71 on November 20, 2004, 09:04:22 AM
how do i adjust the clutch on my 91 8v 5spd tracker??

i found the adjuster but i dont know if screwing the nut in or out makes it grab better...my clutch got walky before and my dad just adjusted it and it worked perfect now after alittle muddin she slips bad when going down the road

however going up hills and such it grabs perfect with no hesitation at all

There should be 40-60 thou(1-1.5mm) of play at the fork. I have founf that the clutch is quite sensitive to adjustment.

Hmmm well thats what we call it  :), the lever thing that disapears into the bellhousing  ???. The cable should have 40 -60 thou of free play at that point. Adjust the nut on the end of the cable to get the correct play.
