Title: Finding My Track In The Parking Lot
Post by: Ira on September 27, 2007, 05:57:01 AM
I'm having no problem getting used to the manual doorlock and window features on my '95 Track, but the one thing that's driving me crazy is not being able to "honk" away from the car so I can find it in a parking lot.

This is major nuisance in South Florida, birthplace of the boring strip mall.

Is there anything aftermarket I can get and install that'll work? Wolo sells a self-contained novelty horn (plays music--BAD music), but at $149, and the fact that the remote only works to 30 feet (which means 20), I think I'll pass on it.

Forget it--mission accomplished:

That same web site sells an alarm "system" for 40 bucks. The Model 500 Lawman Alarm.

What a cool name.

you get a lift, bigger tires, keep it dirty and you will have no problems spottin it in a parking lot!  ;D

Here's the home page:

http://www.wolo-mfg.com/

And here's the item. (You gotta scroll down to the second item.)

http://www.wolo-mfg.com/600.htm

It's a confusing web site, a lot of cool stuff, but it's kind of disorganized. Also check out their Electric Horns.

I got bored with the Manual door lock feature, so I put electric ones in.  :)

Put the electric lock on the tailgate a few weeks ago as well, now all three doors lock automatically.  Need to take some pictures as it was a pretty easy job.

If I was 20 instead of 50, I could REMEMBER where I parked the dang thing.

But those days are long over.

It's not as bad as it looks.  It took me about 4 hours and a drill to do in the garage.  :)  If you where a little closer I would say bring the rig by and I would help you.  :p
