Title: ABS??
Post by: ExitLeft on October 06, 2007, 04:26:56 PM
How do I know if my brother's 2003 TRACKER has ABS?  He's just replaced his master cylinder and buggered it all up.  Now he's not even sure if he has the right part because he thought he didn't have ABS.  Now he's not so sure.  His VIN is 2CNBJ634936917114 if that will help.  I'm 150 miles away and he called me in a panic.  Can anyone help?
Thanks,
WES

If it looks like this, it doesn't have ABS:

If it looks like this, it does:

The little reservoir in the top center of the top pic is for the hydraulic clutch fluid, not brakes, but everything else that's different in that corner of the engine bay is ABS (or lack thereof) related.

Won't the ABS light come on when you turn the ignition if you have it?

Call the local Chevy dealership, ask for the parts department, give them the VIN number, and ask if it has ABS.  Any dealership worth a shit should be able to do that.
