twin winches

Why do you want the winches? You think you'll get stuck in a machine like that? ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'd use a 2Dr diesel Grand Vitara, with the Toyota axles, twin t-case, lockers, and external cage...
Possibly change the 110Hp 2 ltr diesel for a 170 Hp 2.5 ltr diesel from VW, plus the 6 speed sequential gearbox it has, and use a twin toyota transfer case...

A BRAND spanking new fully loaded blue GV right off the showroom floor:

(sidenote: This's been at the dealer for 8 months now.. groan.. if only..)

Pulled into the garage right after purchase side by side with my sidekick, and the drivetrain from the frame down exchanged but using coils on the GV. I'd bolt my kicker 3 to the back of the 2.5L transmission.

Add some 8:1 gears in the sammy case..

And I'd be happy as a clam.

Oh, and also a screamin' Alpine stereo system to thump with while I wheel.

:)

But then..

I'd have to trade over all the stuff I want to put under it too...

:(

;)

That's funny. I could only imagine trying to trade that thing in to a suzuki dealer.

"WHAT?"

I would guess those sited before haven't really sat in the back of the vehicle then in the back seat of a XL7. That has roooommmm!!!. 110" wheelbase.....

Take a XL7, go exo with flat front fenders, 2.7l big block, 5-sp, dual cases (divorce Toys with second 5:1), Hi9's, air bag suspension, long links, 37's for sure.

Second would be the import Jimny conv't.

this is the "if i could i would" thread right?

well, i'd love to have the yota IFS set up, with about 12-15" of travel per side, and still have 4wd. this is basically a new front end i'd imagine, as well as being very close to bomb-proof, but i'd settle for bullet-proof.

then, rebuild and beef the 1.6 i have, port, polish, (bore and stroke maybe?)

or a yota 3.0L turbo diesel (aus version)

keep the 5 speed, then maybe a kicker set up, with reduction gearing in the yota transfer. (i spose it'll be a yota front diff, so yota transfer may be better)
5.29:1 diff gears? yota too.

design a super flexy rear sus system (longer arms, maybe keep the 3 link, or 5 link it, and maybe increase WB by 3"-5" at rear.

custom tray back, custom aluminium tray, hidden storage/tool box, custom fuel tank made to suit.

maybe some 35" tyres too.

oh yeah, how could i forget, the custom UK 8" chassis lift! now this would be a sweeeet set up with the yota IFS!!!

umm, i think i'd be in another world if i had this set up, dont think i could want much else. (except for a brand new vit to start a second project!)

chassis lift i want:

I'd build this:
With some more susp lift instead of body-lift I think.
And next to that I'd have a GV/XL-7 lifted a little bit as a DD  ;D

WHAT  :o  and let the suzuki's crawl all over you.  If money were no object you might as well make it a new AEV Wrangler Unlimited and get a 5" lift, 35" tires, ARB lockers.... all with a factory warranty.

It depends on the specific model and engine and the place where its made, but around 11000 and 14500 euros. Obviously, japanese made are the most sought...

I must be easier to please than most, but my idea if I had unlimited time and money isn't very complicated.

Silver would get redone with fresh paint and rust repaired, etc, as well as a nice set of 30" AT's.

The Goblin would get Calmini 3" suspension lift, HD rear axles and T-case gears, ARB Air Lockers front and rear, a snorkel, and other stuff like a CB, air compressor setup, finish up my rock armor and bumpers, etc...

I'd finish off my D44 SAS in high-dollar style: with XJ coils, 4 link front and rear, ARB lockers front and rear, 4.3L Vortec mated to a Toy pickup trans and tcase, and get a rust-free Sammy tub to throw on top of it :P

But for now I'll just stick with the cheap and effective plan of leaf front XJ/three link rear with a possible 4.3 swap.

Well, I didn't post my other favorite because it's a different concept... But how about one of the big Unimogs? Those things are amazing. I see myself reaching South Africa in one of those. ;D Assuming I has unlimited money to pay for fuel...::)
Or how about a Kamaz 6x6 to run the Dakar rally? I saw them racing a few months ago at the Dakar when it was in Barcelona and they were incredible. They sort of "ate" any other big truck out there...

I had pics of 6x6 Kamaz in Barcelona, but my HD crashed.
These are 6x6 Kamaz (only one actually), though it isn't my foto:

And these are pics I had hosted before the crash, but no 6x6 Kamaz, only 4x4. They were incredible nonetheless...
This is a Renault:

I would be very happy with any of these ;D. Some day I'd like to go, maybe on something more affordable, like a motorciycle ::). Only inscription costs like 9000€ If you are from an oficial team its 12000€), plus a motorbike (around 18000€). A bit more expensive than our Suzukis ::).

Cool!!!!! 8) Thanks for the pics :o Ine if those would be neat to have but would be worthles as a trail vehicle around here. You could not find a trail big enough to drive it on. It would be cool to show up at an event and back the Kick out of one of those ;D

I'd rather take the axles off a Unimog, have them shortened, and put them on a 4door Trackick than drive a vehicle of that size :o

Heres  a thought i had the other day while i was watching a Hummer H3 get loaded full of groceries......

GM owns hummer........GM has a working relationship with Suzuki in the small SUV category.........

Would you buy a Kick sized H5 with suzuki mechanicals and hummer styling? prefer convertible or 4 door? what if they took the styling and wheel/tire look of the H1? And put in a nice torqy diesel.....

Not for me. I have not liked the H-2 since I first laid eyes on one. I have always and probably will always look at them as weak ass comfy replacement to a real 4x4 (the H-1) just to make a bunch of people that will never use their 4x4's happy, and I'm afraid that ANY take-of GM does now will fall in the same catigory (at least in my mind :-/
