I am going to buy a samurai as a daily driver. I want to get a stock one and do a spring over lift with 30s or 31s (whatever fills the wheel well nice). I drive 25 miles to work round trip maybe half on a freeway, San Diego, all flat.
What is the best gears for this application?
I read alot about tranfer case gearing. Is that the prefered method on a sammy?
Is 25 mpg to much to ask out of this thing once I get it dialed in and the tires on it? (i willling to do some performance mods)
P.S. I am probably moving to missouri, that's the reason for the 4x4. I just don't want a tracker or sidekick.

For 30-31" tire a 4.89 transfer case setup should be just about perfect. :)
