Post by: sktw on October 13, 2007, 10:23:49 AM
Can someone give me a basic rundown of what bolts have to be romoved to unbolt the tranny from the engine? I've got the mounts loose and the shifter out so what else?

hmmm I just did this so ...

drain fluids
drop the front diff (it's easy and I needed to anyway)
remove front and rear drivelines
pull upper tranny  bolts
undo elec connections
disconn kickdown at throttle body
pull tcase shifter
disconn shifter cable at trans
remove trans shifter assembly
pull the exhaust between the manifold and muffler (aka drop pipe and cat)
put a jack under ther rear edge of the tranny pan (in fact raise it it touch)
pull the tcase xmember
brace the engine aginast the firewall and remove lower bolts
slide tcase and tranny rearward
catch the biatch as it comes free.
