Title: Suzuki Samurai Clutch very Stiff pedal, almost like grinding?
Post by: bullrock7 on October 15, 2007, 06:45:54 PM
Hello! Recently purchased our 4th Sammy ! Just replaced the clutch as it started becoming very stiff & would only engage at the very end of the pedal. We tried to adjust with no luck. So replaced clutch & new cable. But still a very stiff pedal & still  releasing at the end of the pedal. Any input would really be appreciated! thanks Ronnie

Was there any wear or groves on the shaft for the release bearing??

I did mine twice for the same thing then noticed the slight grove that was causing the bearing to walk a little side ways causing some serious drag (really stiff pedal). A speedy sleeve and some of that lube that comes with the kit and it was good as new.

 Steve. :)

Thanks a bunch for the reply! Not sure about a groove? Will check into that! It seems the clutch &  brakepedal all operate on a single line up above the pedals. Figure something has to be messed up there... thanks again!!
