Title: Trak breaks to a Samurai?
Post by: 87 sammi on October 16, 2007, 07:28:44 PM
I just bought a 97 trak with a 1.6 in it to do the swap to my 87 samurai and i want to use as many parts off it as i can. Does anyone know it the breaks ( calipers, drums, rotors...) will match up on my Zuk axles??

THanks All!!

I tried the calipers from a 89 tracker onto an 87 sami front and they do not fit. the bolt holes would line up if the caliper didn't bottom out on the top of the knuckle first.

I'm doing it right now.  4dr Kick fronts on the Sammy.  They fit, but come real close to the king pin bolts.  Also, I had to remove  good deal of material from my hi-steer arms to make it work, and do a slight bit of grinding to the caliper.

Others are running Kick brake upgrades without problems.  If you run Sammy calipers in the rear, this helps get proportioning bacj=k
