Title: Upper strut nut torque on a '96
Post by: AJMBLAZER on October 28, 2007, 03:02:11 PM
Putting my front suspension back together and hoping someone can answer my question as the '96 Tracker FSB doesn't even mention this nut.

The upper nut on your strut that holds the strut to the strut mount...the big 19mm nut on top...what's the torque value of that?

My 2002 XL7 FSB says that value is 66ft/lbs (90 Nm) but I just want to make sure it's the same.

That sounds about right. I used nylock nuts on my OME's so i didn't go for a specific torque.

IanL says 55-75ft/lbs so I figure I'm right in the middle.

Mine had nyloc nuts on them and the Monroes I just got (yeah I know) came with a set as well.  Still, they're supposed to have a torque value so I wanted to be sure.
