Hi all,
Thought I'd post up some notes regarding the 2" BL I'm just about finished with.
* Removed the following:
headlights, grill, bumbers, xfercase shifter, intake box, fan and shroud
* Hung the following out of the way:
fuel filler, PS resevoir, drivers front brake line
* Loosened the front of the lower steering shaft
* no problem getting the mount bolts or nuts loose (thankfully)
* checked wires while lifting and nothing got hung up
* used marine "goop" to glue blocks without studs (it is better than RTV in many cases)
* got all the extensions started and bolts threaded and snugged it together
* it was obvious that the steering hoses needed to be lengthened, and $10 got me hoses (NOT heater hose)
* left the fan shroud off for the moment but I did remount the fan blades, (I'll probably go with an electric fan soon).
* fuel filler hose was loosened and slid off about 1/4" from each end. That with a little stretching got it bolted back in
* torque up body mounts (still todo)
* "modify" xfer case shifter (still todo)
* reassemble remaining bits (still todo)
* check for and stretch or binding issues (still todo)
My RRO kit didn't come with PS hoses (but, $10), instructions sucked (used the BDS ones), it didn't have 2 blocks (came with 10, but I needed 8(bolted) + 4(glued)), and no shifter extension. If I ever do a BL again, I'd either spend the coin on BDS, or spend the time and make my own.
I'll get some pics up sunday night, and would like some more eyes on the the lower steering shaft ... something doesn't look proper (even before the lift), and now would be a good time to sort it out.

The radiator is bolted to the frame, so
it doesn't move when the body goes up.
The rest sounds like you got it sorted out,
get some some pic posted and I'll look at the
steering shaft, I had to extend mine by cutting
and welding in a new piece

ya for sure, i was about to buy mine but it was $200+ for a 3" lift, so i mad emine ended up costing me $8 in steel, about 1$17 doillars in bolts and about $21 in cutting blades for the steel and a new drill bit.

I do sorta like the "blackout" backend. I wouldn't have ordered that way, but finding a used top reasonably close (this time of year) isn't the easiest. Now that I have it, the "hearse" look is growing on me :)
It is carpeted inside, and insulated. Should be a nice top for the nasty months.

looking good, and with a new set of wheels and tyres, it'll become the beast that it is..... :)
and another thing, how come there's a lot of black grilles out there?
looking forward to seeing further mods.

Tires and wheela are next major purchase.
15x8's with 3.5" BS are *easy* to find around here ($10 per wheel is common), so I'm going to try them before I pay lots for reduced BS wheels.
For tires, I'd like some swamper SSR's but might be a little pricey for my budget. I've got big-o XT's on my truck and really like them (and their not too expensive). Only thing is sidewalls migt be too stiff for the tracker ...

I haven't got mine into snow yet, but with the tread pattern has those 2 strips that my experience (years of AK driving) make a good snow handling tire ... so, 92Sidekick4x4, do they work good in the white stuff too?
Also, what size you running? The 285/75r16's on my truck *seem* stiff (even aired down). I'm a little worried that on the lightweight tracker, they wouldn't flex enuf over rocky terrain.

my tires i got form my brother, so i havnt driven them in the snow yet but my brother has and they seemed to be good in the snow, i havent found them too stiff at all. ummm my tires are 30x9.5"s
