Is there anyone on here that is running this power-steering setup?
I have been looking into it more and more, due to the fact that the steering box mounts to the inside of the frame. Iv heard that they are much stronger than the Suzuki power-steering, but not quite as tough as the Toyota truck power-steering.
Anyone got any pros or possibly cons to this setup?
Any info would be great
Thanks
Amilla

That is the PS set-up I have. I have yet to hook the pump up as I am waiting to do that when I install the 1.6. But just having the Toy box made it steer easier. I bought my PS adaptor kit from Paul Easley a few years ago, not sure if he is still building Zuki stuff.

curious how this worked out once the pump was hooked up, dry steering my swampers is really old with the stock setup

Still haven't hooked the pump up, planning on doing that when I install the 1.6 sometime this coming summer if the funds are free.
It may be later as I found a good deal on a 16v that has some block issues for cheap, trading some Chevy go fast parts I have for it. The plan is to put all the 16v goodies on the 8v block I have if there are no issues with that idea.

hmmm is the 16 valve head interchangable? i had sorta written off a 1.6 liter swap, i hate the details with fi, and i was thinking why mess with all that for 20- 30 horse, id rather weld than wire, seams some guys ar pretty stoked on the results of the swap, i was thinking of somthing bigger, in seattle area lots of hills and wet earth

I live an hour from Portland and wheel the same stuff that you do. Old logging roads, trails, mud, quad trails. I am going to do the swap for the added power, little as it may be. I don't want to get carried away with a custom engine swap, other wise I would shove a Wankel into it. A turbo 13b would really make the mud fly. 8)
And there is no messing with wires on the swap just the $$ needed. You can get a modded wire loom from TT for $300, sounds spendy but I talked to a guy modding a harness when I was there the last time. The time he put's into modding the loom is worth the price, something I really don't want to do.

I have run a toyota celica power steering on my sammy and on my buddy's for years. they work great. I think that the sidekick box is equal to it how ever and are easier to find. I actually have a full setup for sale, but the box leaks at the input shaft seal.

haha read my mind, i actually have a 13-b sitting down in my shop, i figered the weight the horspower and the gradual tourque curve would be perfect, but the intake and dist coversion were ridiculas financially, i could probably small block it and reaxel for what id have into getting my rotary in there, a running 12-a would still be a good alternative, and what year celica? or does it matter
