ODF seeks recreation enthusiasts for Tillamook advisory committee

The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) is seeking recreation enthusiasts from the general public to fill vacancies on the Tillamook State Forest Recreation Advisory Committee (TRAC).

Committee members serve two-year terms. The committee meets quarterly with ODF forest and recreation managers to review to provide input on recreation program plans, policies and projects.

The committee links the recreation public and the forestry department, with committee members working with ODF to help organize public outreach to people and groups they represent who use the forest.

Open positions on the nine-member TRAC include angler, ATV rider, equestrian, 4-wheel driver, hiker, hunter, mountain biker, motorcyclist (dirt bike) and member at large.

For more information or to obtain an application, contact ODF’s Stephanie Beall at (503) 357-2191, or visit the Tillamook State Forest Website at: http://egov.oregon.gov/ODF/TSF/tsf.shtml .

Applications must be received by Dec. 1. Appointments to the committee will be announced by Dec. 31. The first TRAC meeting will be held in February or March, 2008.
