I've been searching around online for an inclinometer for my Tracker. One of the dual-gauge ones, preferably with a backlight. Anyone have any links to a place to buy one for a decent price? I've been looking around and so far have only found Quadratec, and they seem kinda high...

one word EBAY ;)

Unless you are getting one jsut for looks, don't waste your time. I got one with backlighting (from Ebay, I think) it's a steel horse clinometer (no i) and installed it in the dash of my samurai, as shown in the picture below.
The problem is that the truck sees more extreme angles offroad than the gauge is capable of indicating. I was hoping I could use it to get a feel for when I might be in danger of rolling, etc, but it just pegs the indicator and I'm still nowhere near rolling.
My kids like to look at it, though, and it does fill in that space in the dash. I am going to yank it eventually when I put in ARBs and need somewhere to mount the switches.

EBay? gee why didn't I think of that? Oh yeah, I did think of that... there wasn't anything that I wanted there, that's why I posted here...
Huppo, that one you show only goes up to 30 degrees? hmmm... might have to look around for something better.

I got one from a RV dealer. It only goes one way but you can get them in 45 or 60 degree models, less than $20 too

suzuki put one in japeneese samurais. You can find em on ebay from time to time. But, they are NOT cheap. Last one I saw went for close to 300 bones.

I've got one in the same place ( does show more degrees tho'), looks good but I do not have time to look at the meter when thinking I'm in danger of rolling, too busy avoiding that to happen ;)
With the standerd suspension for now I dó see I'm too heavy as the vehicle is constantly leaning to the left :-/

I have one, not for sale, it's pretty useless, except to impress chicks who actually go on a trail ride with you

I'll probably go with this unless I can find something better:
http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sgin0101.exe?UID=2004110823092073&T1=94050%2B02&UREQA=1&UREQB=2&UREQC=3&UREQD=4&FNM=00&x=91&y=61
it shows up to 40 degrees and has a compass built in...

300 for a stock one? I guess getting an OEM inclinometer from an SJ410 for cheap is out of the question.
-
Just saw a Suzuki clino today. Fella had it in a box. I agree that if your wheelin hard your not goin to be lookin at a gauge. But if they go for upto $300 a fella might want to scoop it very cheap, just to as you say keep the kids occupied.

Or you could always dangle a washer with some string from your rear view mirror.

Yes, that's a great idea, sounds like what we call an Belgian weatherstation: put a small rock on a piece of string outside your window. When the stone's wet: it's raining. When the stone is white : it's snowing etcetc ;D ;D

Belive it or not... later 80's toyota.... get ready... TERCEL!! Yes boys and girls Tercel 4wd station wagon has one option on the dash. If your lucky you can find noe out of you local wreckers. A little hacking, drilling and wiring will get you everything you need. I wired up the 4WD light to my dumbie dash light and then rest to my parking lights... works great and cheap... only goes to 30 degree thou.
