Title: RPM question
Post by: Riddick on November 28, 2007, 11:04:54 PM
I noticed today while driving my tracker that while in 5th gear and doing 55MPH my RPM's were in the 3000 range and 65MPH was 3500, is this correct? Seems high however shifting is great, no noise or anything to alert me.

That is correct.  Trackicks are geared lower to make up for the small amount of horsepower.

Mine's not happy till it's revvin' at 4 grand at 70mph, right in the power band .

Mine was happiest, fuel consumption, noise, ride at about 55-60. It does have a sweet spot at 70 but only 'cus pre turbo it was significantly more work for the motor to pull any faster than that.
