Title: advice on a 1.6 8V swap

i have been told i need to use the 1.6 starter, and alt, but what about the flywheel, swap from the 1.3? and on the alt, i need the wires from a sidekick, right? no wires on the engine, so i assume i need to visit a scrap yard huh.
where do they get wired into? haven't started the swap yet, still need to get the adapter plate, and mounts for the 8V, so i can't post ne pics yet. just trying to get some advice ahead of time.

why can't i use my alt? all my wiring is there, or is it just not enough to put out for the 1.6? i'll be using my intake and carb, along with the stock exhaust......

  ther is oodles of info on this swap,just use the search function.I would have to keep the fuel injection myself though.Many vendors offer a wiring harness or will modify yours.
  As for the other questions,if you can't find your answers using the search function,I am sure someone will help out shortly.

both alternators take the same connection.

use the 1.3 flywheel etc.

I havent done a 1.6 without the efi, but i suspect that you dont need the wiring from the 1.6 if you are just using your stock intake, carb and ignition.

I learned all this by searching...

You can use the 1.3 starter motor but you need to grind it back where it fouls on the 1.6 block. I used all the 1.3 parts for my conversion because I didn't have any ancillaries for the 1.6. The crankshaft pulley must be redrilled to suit the 5 bolt 1.6 crank.
If you retain the carb then you can retain all the 1.3 wiring. I opened out the ports on the intake manifold to suit the 1.6 head. The 1.3 exhaust manifold was a good match for the ports on the 1.6.
You may need to change the temperature sensor for the 1.3 sensor to get the gauge to read correctly.
If you use the 1.3 dizzy then you will also need to use the 90 degree housing from the 1.3 or grind off the end of the distributor shaft.
You must use the 1.3 flywheel.
If you don't have a 2-3" lift then you will need to use the 1.3 sump and modify the oil pick up pipe. Alternatively you may get away with moving the front axle forward an inch or so. If you are using the Petroworks kit then check with them, I believe their mounts lower the engine slightly so everything fits under an unmodifed hood.
Don't forget to enlarge the top holes in the 1.3 gearbox, I missed that bit and had to pull the engine again!
