I know a few people were interested in new tools lately, and sears has a nice sale right now.
I wanted a set of tools and a box to keep in my Sidekick.I ended up getting the 140 piece tool kit,a 9 piece metric set,and a 4 drawer box,all Craftsman for $120.00 tax and all.
I just thought I would let yall know, cause there is no such thing as too many good tools.Especially whem you need em!

I just wish someone sold a METRIC ONLY kit. I hate spending $100 for a kit when I'm going to throw out or give away $40 worth of it (already have 2 sets of standards that get used once every 5 years) *grumbles*
And, yes - I know I can buy "mini" sets of tools (5-10) in metric only... I'm talking about the big sets with sockets, wrenches, screw drivers etc.
-
yea, but if ya carry a toolset in your rig, ya gotta have the std's for the broke heep in the group :)
(cuz his "trail ready" rig didn't mean to carry tools).

I feel the same way.I would like a metric kit,and need standard to help out the unfortunate.
They did have a metric socket set set in 3/8ths drive for about 40 bucks, but I got the big set for $49.99 so I went for it.
It just got too inconvienent to constantly grab tools from my chest at home so I just said screw it and bought some just for the car.Going back tomorrow to pick up a 2 ton floor jack and jack stands for $29.00.If I break something in the middle of nowhere again I will be ready!!!

Craftsman does sell all metric kits...you just have to look in there big catalog. The stuff they have in stock at Sears is nothing compared to Craftsman's full line catalog.

Really? I'll have to order the catalog. The guy at the store couldn't understand why I'd want a metric-only set.
I'm happy to help anyone I come across on the trail (Jeep / Yota / Ford...), but I'm not going to carry around extra tools that don't fit my rig "just-in-case" I run into someone with a different rig. They best bring their own damn tools & spares... or get with the program, and buy Japanese ;D
