Title: Tracker samuri t-case install???
Post by: nevadasmith on December 16, 2007, 09:25:31 AM
I have seen 5 or 6 trackers/sidekicks on the net now, that claim to run samuri t-case is there a way to do this with out using the OTT kicker setup I don't want any shoter rear drive shaft but I would love the high range reduction? but funds are tight and can't aford $700+driveshafts for the OTT kicker setup, so if you have sugestions i'm interested

thanks for the help!

the guys that are not using some kind of "doubler" have probably used a 2wd tracker tranny then built a custom mountfor the samauri t-case . 3 custom drivelines and a new hole in the transmission tunnel and your in business
it's an option that has crossed my mind too
gearing problems would be a thing of the past
i'm supprised there aint any vendors that have capitolized on this great idea

If you run a "dual" t/c isn't your drive shaft " Sami behind Tracker" a little short? It can't be much longer than 12"-14" long. How are you getting wheel travel? And if you do run 2 t/c's can you please take a few pic's as I would like to see this as im sure other would too. Thanx

the rig Im running the dual case on is a samurai frame w/ a 4 link ft & a 3 link rear w/ a 89 " wheel base, a 1.6 16v 5spd & the tracker/ sami  t/cs the rear drive shaft is about 22 "long flange to yoke I have 34 "tractor bars  welded rear & I beat this thing & have had no problems. the "drive shaft"  between has to be lined up right and the cases mounted  together solid.. the rig Im putting  a auto trans version  into has a 106 wheel base so I dont see any problems
